Fighting the flooding nightmare

Recent heavy rain created another flooding nightmare for many Saddleworth residents in across all our villages, made much worse by dozens of blocked roadside gully grids.

Saddleworth’s Liberal Democrat Oldham Borough Councillors voted to reinstate a comprehensive gully grid cleaning service with an additional vehicle. Labour, and Conservative Councillors combined again to defeat them. There is now just one gully grid cleaning vehicle for 43,000 gully grids across the whole of Oldham Borough, and where is most of the flooding? – in Saddleworth of course!

The Liberal Democrats have repeatedly called upon Oldham’s failing Labour council to install more gully grid cleaners to protect us from flooding, but time and time again they ignore us.

Add your voice to our petition to reinstate a comprehensive gully grid cleaning service below.

Stop the flooding nightmare!

We call upon Oldham council to reinstate a comprehensive gully grid cleaning service with an additional vehicle, to protect Saddleworth's villages from flooding.
